Vaccine Discovery
The Aeras RNA capsid technology was invented and is being exploited in the vaccine platform development lab. Aeras scientists are also developing rBCG and other modified mycobacterium vaccines in the mycobacteriology laboratory.
The Aeras Vaccine Discovery Department, in addition to designing and creating vaccines and vaccine platforms, actively seeks collaborative input from academic, industrial and government researchers investigating new technologies; these can be in any phase of development, from early discovery to clinic-ready. In addition to candidate vaccines, Aeras actively partners with collaborators for discovery and development in the following areas:
- Antigen discovery
- Platform technologies
- Adjuvants and immunomodulators
- Novel vaccine concepts
- Vaccine delivery systems
- Vaccine stabilization and preservation
- Pathophysiology of M.tb
The Aeras Vaccine Discovery Department can further assist TB and vaccine research collaborators with:
- Sponsored research agreements
- Intellectual property protection
- Process development
- Pre-clinical testing
- Adaptation to regulatory compliance
